Show Design Consultation

At Olathe East we had many inherent instrumentation challenges because of the structure of the high school's special academic programs that drew many students who were in our attendance area to other high schools in the district.  The only way we were able to consistently be competitive for so long was to try and out-design other groups so that our instrumentation challenges were not as evident and we were able to score highly in the visual captions that are not as reliant on instrumentation.  A cohesive design with careful consideration to music choices, guard choices, and prop choices are crucial to groups looking to be competitive.  Once again, prices depend on the amount of services required and your goals for the program.  Please reach out so we can find a way to make it work with your finances.  Here are some of the services available:

• Custom Music Design:  To make a custom marching show typically requires a wind arranger, a percussion arranger and a music designer.  I do not arrange wind music so you would need to hire a separate wind arranger.  However,  I am able to provide both of the other services.   What I did for the shows at Olathe East is to select all the music and create a spliced together version of the music for the wind and percussion arrangers to use as the template to create the show.  I could do that service as a stand alone service or I could then also write the percussion book for your show as well.

• Show Design Consultation:   This can look very different depending on how much assistance you want.  It could all be done during the design portion of the show or I could come out and make suggestions in season on ways to maximize the product.  I could give input on show concepts, prop suggestions, and visual staging.  Please reach out and we can talk about the best way to maximize your funds to help take your show to the next level!
